president rode in the 7th Annual Memory Ride for Alzheimer’s
Research. More than 100 riders traveled
150 miles over two days through three, hilly New England states to raise
approximately $200,000 to fight this disease and find a cure through
research. www.landrys.com and www.memoryride.org
On July
28th, DataSys sponsored the Tri-City Golf Open at The Georgetown Club to help
support our customer, Tri-City Mental Health Center. Founded in 1965 as a licensed mental health
and substance abuse clinic serving Everett, Malden, and Medford, Tri-City now
serves more than 14 communities and provides services to the homeless throughout
the Commonwealth.
On

Fundraising Golf Day at Sterling Country Club.
The proceeds support this customer’s mission of advocating to empower
persons with disabilities to take active roles in their lives and in the
community in which they live. The Center provides comprehensive and

opportunities. www.centerlw.org
The highlight
of the year occurred on September 20th, when DataSys President Lisa Daigle
biked 25 miles in the Rodman Ride for Kids.
The Ride for Kids is a one-day cycling tour that raises money for
nonprofit agencies that promote healthy, positive lives for at-risk children
throughout Massachusetts. Those agencies
include the Big Brother and Big Sister Association of Massachusetts, Robert F.
Kennedy Children’s Action Corps, Italian Home for Children (a DataSys
customer), Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and many others. Since its founding in 1989, the Ride for Kids
has raised more than $13 million. This
year’s goal was for corporate sponsors and riders to raise $3 million.
DataSys
Corporation was proud to be a Power Pedalers sponsor of the 2003 Rodman Ride. The ride began and ended at the Rodman Health
and Fitness Center in Foxboro. From
start to finish, the event was unbelievably well orchestrated, with attention
to every detail, down to linen tablecloths and colorful potted mums in the
dining tent. Volunteers lined the route
and cheered the riders. Mother Nature
smiled on the participants and produced a beautiful, sunny, 80-degree day. Riders of all ages, some with children in
tow, turned out for the cause. There was
an unmistakable air of congeniality and a multitude of happy faces crossing the
finish line.
DataSys
customer, George Forte from the Italian Home for Children, had this to
say: “For all of us at the Italian Home
for Children the Rodman Ride for Kids has become part of our culture since its
inception. Not only are we one of the
beneficiaries, we are also actively involved in signing up sponsors,
organizing, volunteering, and riding.
Each year, the funds raised from this event help enrich the lives of
50,000 children in Massachusetts. As our
team members cross the finish line, we’re not thinking about the 25, 50, or 100
miles we’ve just completed, we’re thinking about the 50,000 kids who will
benefit from our efforts. We were
pleased to have DataSys as a sponsor for the second year running.”
